Hello, I am new to myfitnesspal. I was searching for IgA Nephropathy. I'm looking for people and resources for support as I work on my health.

I'm in stage 3. My kidney function was at 28% but through diet change (Paleo + low protein intake) I have increased to 70-80%.

That sounds pretty challenging. A question, what does paleo+low protein mean? Isn't paleo relatively high protein
Best of luck finding what works to manage your condition.
  • Yes Paleo is usually high protein but I reduce to 6oz per day and lean heavy on veggies and nuts. Paleo is very flexible and fits me as I have cut out sugar, grains, legumes, and dairy (mostly but love cheese). : )

Thanks for helping me learn a new term today.

It sounds you have done an awesome job managing your diet in your case. Keep up the good work. Three months ago I went low carb 5%, Protein 15% and good fat 80% for pain management of my arthritis and that has worked very well for pain reduction.

What gets your function up sounds like the right thing to do.
