I have to say I have been struggling with my weight for years but september 2013 I wanted to make a real change, I was starting uni, moving away from home for the first time and ready to make a diffrence in my life. Plus the added warnings from friends that people usualy go one way or another when going to uni and either gain loads or they start to loose weight. on september 1st 2013 I weighed 14st7Lb, ( my ultimate goal weight being 10st) about half way through the year, i had reached about 13stone - living with vegitarians has it's benifits, but over the second half of the year and summer, I started to gain weight once more ,through over-eatting with stress of exams and unhealthy snacks during the all nighters that we pulled.

my weight has remained stable between 13st 7lb and 13st 4Lb. I am proud. I remind myself that losing a stone in my first year of University is an achivement, but i still have a way to go untill I am at my goal weight. but I am starting 2015 on a positive note and knowing that I can make this new year work for me.

What are your 2015 weight loss tips?
What has your battles with weightloss been like?
what has been the most difficult point for you?

-Eat less, move more, and use a food scale
-This is the only time I've been committed to more than a couple days. 54.5 pounds gone in a year!
-These past three months, as I've only lost eight pounds due to stalls and beginning to lift

    • Be patient and understanding with yourself. The habits that led you to gain the weight don't go away overnight, and often require some unraveling. This is a complicated process, and you'll likely have to confront some misunderstandings and disillusionments along the way.
    • Be honest with yourself about your intake and activity. Logging is the best way to do this! Making even small improvements in how you abide by your goals will have lasting effects if you're consistent.
    • Don't let yourself get complacent. The closer you get to your goals, the more carefully you need to monitor your intake and activity to see success. Don't let a good week end in a weekend blowout, or you'll only be kicking yourself!
    • Reach for support when needed.

While I wouldn't really call it a battle, it's definitely been quite the process. I've lost 84 lbs since my highest and had to make a lot of changes along the way. I needed to stop letting excuses get in the way. The hardest thing for me was to change my relationship with food. Food was my comfort, my reward, my source for "happiness", and it was only causing me harm being used that way. The most difficult time for me was in the very beginning, when I suffered gallbladder attacks as a consequence of my terrible eating habits, and ended up needing it out in emergency surgery at 21 years old. That was a really low point, and I was reluctant to make changes until this kick in the butt.

Congrats on your hard work. I gained a solid 20+ pounds in 4 years of college. And honestly, the stress gets worse once your out of college. Bosses, full time jobs, paying rent and other bills, blah blah blah. So developing healthy behaviors now will benefit you once you graduate.

My 2015 goals/tips are to just keep logging and eating healthy. I have a heavy training program planned to do some mud runs/obstacle course races. So as long as I keep my eating in check, the pounds should keep sliding off. Always easier said than done though....especially since I the harder I workout the harder it is to control my eating lol. I've been losing weight for the past 2.5 years. 40 pounds total. My mind still hasn't really adjusted to my new body...I hold up new clothes thinking "omg that will never fit me" and it fits. I'm still procuring the new found confidence from it as well. In certain social situations I still feel like the fat girl that tries to hide in a corner. But it's getting better. Age + accomplishments are boosting my self-esteem pretty well. Sometimes I wish I had the gumption to be as strict as some people on here that lose a ton of weight in a short period of time....but what I've been doing is working, and the weight is staying off, and most importantly I have been having the time of my life. I have new friends at the gym, I fell in love with obstacle course races, etc. I finally feel like I'm being the woman I want to be.

Anyways that was some rambling. Best of luck in 2015!!!

I've discovered that weight loss is only challenging because we are conditioned to view it as challenging. Many of us can't just not think about it and still lose weight. I've discovered I'm much happier looking at my weight, as well as good and bad days of eating, as neither being good nor bad. They just are. I will still log everything, every day. If I go over, so what? No need to make excuses, just keep on keeping on. This is the mentality that I've had to adopt in order to lose the 93 lbs thus far.

    -log accurately.
-being older is harder to cut and being in a recomp is frustrating.
    -water retention and stress.
