I've had a couple of pairs. They last longer than some of my cheap socks; not as long as some of my others (I wear holes in the heels).
As far as blister prevention goes, for me that is entirely a function of the shoe. If I start getting toe blisters, time for new shoes.
Overall I just buy the cheap 3-packs. Wool socks are nice for outdoors in winter, though.0 -
Haha, you are talking to a workboot sock guy. Wore them for everything. Then discovered and tried the Addis version of the running socks they are so nice. But mine is from work socks to those....lol. Big difference in general.0

I run sockless when it's warm and merino wool socks when it's cold0

Huge "yay"! (In my opinion.) Anything pure cotton is bound to kill you over the course of longer runs.0

Thanks .. i tend to use just cheap *kitten* trainer socks as i wear them all teh time anyways.. might give them a try then next time i go shopping0

Yay! I wear Balega Hidden Comforts. They were recommended by my local Fleet Feet store and I fell in love with them!0

Double layer wright socks, got them for running but i wear them all the time.0

I wear Balega Enduro Quarter socks. They are merino and some tech fibers. I'm in the PNW, so running in wet weather for a chunk of the year. Wool socks make a huge difference in keeping my toesies warm and comfy, even when they get soggy.0

Good idea, maybe I should get some.
I wore a cotton mix with a Rudolph on each side with a pom-poms for noses on a six mile walk the other day. The ball of my foot was so sore from the chaffing.
My warning is stay away from humorous socks, they have the last laugh.0 -
I agree with the double layer wrightsocks. Awesome! Makes a huge difference to have running socks for regulating foot temperature. I can wear my socks in extreme hots and colds and my feet are happpy. I like balegas too, but I'm right at the end of the medium size range, so I wear holes in the toe pretty quickly. I'm at the bottom of the range for wright large so they work better for my foot, thanks Local Running Store for pointing that out!0

My husband bought me a pair for Christmas in 2013. I wore them once. They made my feet slide in my shoes and I got blisters. I prefer cotton. I must just be weird that way.0

Big "yeah" for me. No cotton socks, no sir. I get UA Big Logo running socks and Saucony Performance Arch Stripe No Show Socks. I have not had a blister since 2009. Yes, I kept track0

Wool socks for the win. Nothing pulls sweat from your feet better.0

Learned years ago from a pro runner, always wear two pair of socks to prevent blisters. Never had one since. Usually first pair is thinnest. Love thick running socks for outer pair.0

Yeah I use running socks. Very comfortable & I find after a run, my feet are hot but NOT wet - they wick all the sweat away.0

I occasionally got blisters with cotton socks. Bamboo socks are amazing...I bought some cheap brand and LOVE them. They wick sweat really well and are extremely soft and durable. I also have a couple of pairs of Injinji toe socks...those are also amazing. Never get blisters or friction burns with those no matter how hot and humid or how much I sweat.0

Refueling and footwear all in one!

I've been using Under Armour running socks and they're a lifesaver! They wick the sweat away really nicely and my feet never seem to freeze even in the winter. I use the crew socks during the cold months of the year and the "no-show" ones during the warmer months.0

bought a couple of pairs of karimor running socks over the weekend and tried them out tonight .. must say feet feel much fresher and no sliding around in my running shoes so.. Thanks for the tips guys .. i will pick up some under armour ones when in new york next month as well.0
