I am 32 I have a four year old and a five year old I am only about 5'3" and currently weigh 242 lbs.....I have finally decided I have got to do something about this!! I went to try on clothes this weekend because we went to the zoo and I wanted some shorts to wear I was so disgusted that I wanted to cry!! I have never been on an actual diet but yesterday I started counting calories and measuring food!! I know its a long ways to go because I would like to get down to around 150-160 but I am going to force my self to stick with this and I am even looking into starting a gym and doing some weight lifting....any suggestions about that would be appreciated because I know nothing about it!!! I am a nurse so I am on my feet all day and on the go all day and a few weeks ago me and another girl have started walking and I do some jogging. Any advice would be appreciated!!

Hello and welcome to MFP, I have also been yoyo dieting. This time it is going to stick. I am 34 years old and my husband and I are planning to start a family and I want to be healthier. I started in January, I will admit I fell off for a little bit but now I am back on track. I log in every day. With the help of my husband I have been going to the gym doing cardio and zumba. I have only recently started (as in yesterday) doing weights. I started the year out at 207, my goal is 160. One word of advice, drink as much water as you can. I used to drink maybe 2 (16oz ) bottles. Now I drink about 5 to 6 bottles. I also limit myself to the amount of pop that I drink. Feel free to add if you like. Good Luck with your weight loss0
