Third time around :) - My Story

Hello everyone!

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 18, biologically female, and a student from England. This is my third account on myfitnesspal, and I'm feeling very optimistic about it!

I am not at the start of a fitness 'journey', to be honest. When I had my first account on here I was in the grips of an eating disorder, and used mfp to spur myself on into losing more and more weight in a really unhealthy manner. The second account I made was created with the purpose of aiding my recovery in the early steps, and I left because obviously once your weight is out of the danger zone there's no benefit to counting calories when you're trying to recover from an ED.

September 2013 was a real setback for me and I got my heart broken by a girl I'd been in love with for months, which triggered a relapse into anorexia for me. This past year I've been in counselling trying to work through lots of issues and get back on my feet. I've always loved running and started to get back into it the following summer. September of 2014 I went away to university for the first time and I found my approach to food, exercise and life in general became much healthier, and I just naturally fell into good habits of listening to my body, working out when it felt right, and eating whole nourishing foods. I am lucky because I find exercise fun and love the taste of typically 'healthy' foods! I lost quite a bit of weight as a result but it came off slowly and healthily - truth be told I wasn't actually aiming to lose weight at all, it just happened!

So why am I here a third time around? As I mentioned, I'm not really on any sort of fitness/ weight loss 'journey' - I don't feel that I'm at point A trying to get to point B! Well, there are a few reasons to be honest.

• The holiday season just ended, and having been back at home with my parents I've gained a little winter weight. I'm fine with it and not stressing out at all, but I do feel a little sluggish as a result, and I want to get back that glowy feeling (and glowy skin!) that comes with a healthy lifestyle.
• It's been a goal of mine for ages to run a 5k, so I thought by tracking my workouts I might finally get round to it!
• I've been reeeeeally wanting to get my hands on the Blogilates 2015 Fit Planner, but didn't fancy forking out 20 quid for it - then I realised that mfp is a FREE fitness planner, and it's on my phone!
• The gym at uni is really cheap and loads of fun so I'm planning on spending a lot of free time there this term, and I wanted to feel all smug by writing down all my workouts!

Some other things about me, since this is an intro post:

• I sing opera
• I can speak two languages
• I'm a queer activist, being genderfluid and bisexual myself (you can use 'she' pronouns for me though, I don't mind :) )
• My username is cavernclub because of the Cavern Club in Exeter, where my favourite band Muse played some of their very first gigs 21 years ago!
• I'm also a Christian :)

Looking forward to getting to know all of you very soon. Please reply telling me a little about yourself if you'd like to!!

Have a wonderful new year everyone,
