good protein powder?

What do people use for protein powder (or other protein alternative) in smoothies? I've never used anything like that before, but adding peanut butter adds too many calories. I'd like to get something that will help keep me full, not taste terrible, and won't add too many extra calories (or weird chemical ingredients, if possible!).

Thanks :)

If it is the calories that you are worried about in peanut butter then why not try PB2. I love it in my smoothies.

As far as protein powder I am a fan of Cellucor protein powder. I love the cinnamon swirl. It taste like cinnamon toast crunch and is delicious with just milk (or almond milk) and PB2.

I like Promasil, its at GNC. Its only 90 calories a scoop and its really low carb and sugar and all that other stuff. I thinks its 24 grams of protein.
I currently have Bodylogix Decadent Chocolate and its really good. I only add a cup of milk or almond milk and it tastes good. Its 126 calories per scoop and 20 grams of protein. Not sure if this is available outside Canada or not though....

I just googled PB2. I had never heard of it. It sounds like a miracle solution!

    Thanks for the recommendations. :)

I use Designer Whey in smoothies and shakes. Its good and one of the "cleaner" protein powders. I also use a lot of PB2.

Cleaner, eh? I like the sound of that. :) And I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for PB2. I wish I had known about it sooner!

    Thanks!

..nothing against carbs or fat but I would rather get them from my food instead of a supplement

I just bought GNC Spiru-Meal in Chocolate and am enjoying it so far. It contains spirulina which is really healthy. I also use PB 2

If you're in the UK, then Bulk Powders do some good ones. They're cheaper if you get them from Amazon rather than direct. I've spent hours comparing them for protein v calorie content and price, and their Whey Isolate 90 is the one I've decided to buy next. 27g of protein for 113 calories, and about £19 a kilo, which is really, really cheap.

You can also add Greek Yoghurt to your shakes - that stuff has an amazing protein to calorie ratio, especially the fat free sort.

Not for adding to shakes, but great as a treat or snack are Peak Body Pro Light 25 bars - 177 calories for 25g of protein. The best price is again, not direct, but from a website called Dolphin Fitness.
