Recipes/Cooking and tracking questions

Hi everyone! I'm not new to tracking but in the last few years I've had a harder time with it because I cook a lot, I make mostly all of my own foods/recipes, I very rarely use anything packaged or pre-made, etc, which to me makes it seem like tracking is much more tedious! My goal this year is to really really track (Only half-assed it recently) So I've been entering in my recipes slowly of things I make all of the time (salad dressing, veggie dip, tortillas, etc) Also, I don't KNOW exactly how much of what I make is a serving. For instance, I make veggie dip with 1C plain yogurt and 16oz light sour cream (plus seasonings). 2T is usually a serving of veggie dip (pre-made), but how do I know how many servings it is, without actually going in and measuring out 2T until it's gone? (I hope this makes sense, and I know it sounds stupid... but seriously..lol)
Basically I'm wondering what your strategy is, what has made it easier/more convenient for you and if you have any tips?? Thank you!!

I have been measuring all my ingredients on my scale seperately, as they go in. Then when the recipe is done, I put it in a bowl and measure out its total weight in grams. I divide that number by the servings it's supposed to have. That way I know how many grams my serving should be.
I found I was underserving myself on some things.
I cook from scratch, and it can get a bit tedious. Every time I make a recipe it will be slightly different, based on the weights of veggies that go in. I log every recipe as if it were a new one.
I made a cake the other day, on the recipe it said it served 9. Well, I initially input it that way, but I wound up getting 12 equal slices out of it. I was able to go back in and adjust it.0 -

That helps, thank you! I have a digital scale, I haven't been using it though for some reason, that sounds like a more accurate way than I have been doing!

Yes measure the cooked recipe but I then work out how many 100g portions there are and put that in as a serving ...that way you can eat any quantity you want based on your wants / hunger / calories0
