Hi All- I am going to start focusing on high intensity interval training this year.

I need some workout ideas to get me started. I workout at a Lifetime Fitness so I have most equipment available to me.

I would like a workout that is between 20-30 minutes. Some of the things I enjoy:
rowing, kettle bells, exercise balls, stair stepper.

Would love suggestions or if anyone has a workout they have been following that has been working for them I would love to hear it!

You could convert any cardio into HIIT. Find one that you like and check the machine settings. Personally, I love the Arc Trainer.

Prowler, Sled Pulls, Sprints, Weighted Carries (from the chest), Farmers Walks, Heavy Bag, Sledge Hammer Slams, Keg Slams, etc...

Doing Tabata sets of front or back squats is a good one as well but it is NOT fun.

Pairings of jumping jacks, mountain climber, floor jacks, jump squats, alternate lunges with jump, ladder drills, air squats, straddle jumping risers (2 lifts), slamball squats and dreaded burpees are in my daily Tabatas. Nice thing is very little equipment is needed just your determination to finish the set.
Twice a week four of us will do 8-10 non-stop Tabata sets in 45 minutes. On my solo days I'll do 4 or 5 sets with a slight break in between - leaving something for TRX. Try doing a Boot Camp and you'll discover a lot of drills you'll want to keep. Good luck!

If you are in a gym, crank up the intensity on an elliptical and go as fast and hard as you can. Or hit the rowing machine. They are rarely being used since people have no idea what they are. If you are outdoors, do some hill sprints or regular wind sprints.

I wouldn't recommend sprinting on a treadmill because you really should have complete control over speed and intensity when you're going at 90% or over.
