Tips for those who are just staring:

I'm just starting too, but I think I found a tip that might help some people who are struggling to meet their net calories goal. And here it is: for one or two days just eat as much as you normally eat, but log every bite. That way you can see what caloric intake you are used to and reduce that. You may find that you are eating way more calories per day than you expected. For example jumping from 2500 or more calories a day, down to 1200 is gonna leave you feeling really bad and really hungry. But just lowering it from 2500 to 2000 is going to make a big difference if you stick to it, and it's a more realistic goal that you are more likely to stick to. Then you can work your way down to lower net calories as you go.

My other tip would be: log your calories as accurately as you can. No cheating. That's really crucial.

Do you have any tips for newcomers?

Buy a food scale and weigh your food, if anything just to get an accurate idea of what a serving is.

This isn't a weight loss show and you won't lose massive amount of weight weekly.

Some weeks you may lose more than others.

Some weeks you may gain on the scale

    And it's all ok.

It's not linear, it doesn't all go the way the books say it should. As long as you're overall progressing down, how you get there doesn't really matter. Just as long as you do.

You don't have to eat 1200 calories and deprive yourself. You can still eat the things you enjoy. Just learn to weigh it, eat less of it, log it.

    Good luck!!
