Please talk me off the ledge.

I'm trying to kick refined sugar cold turkey. This from someone who was eating candy daily like it was a food group just a few weeks ago. I got super motivated to give it up for good about a week ago. I breezed through the week with zero sugar cravings. I think my carbs have been too low though, and I have been weak with lots of dizzy spells and zero energy. I added back in more carbs (rice, potatoes, and 5-6 dates) and my stomach went ape **** with horrible bloating and gas that will not go away, and now I'm craving sugar again. My boyfriend's son's rice crispy treats are taunting me from the kitchen shelf. Please talk me down.

Eat a banana? Could be a lot of different things, including iron deficiency or your stomach reacting to increased fiber...
Refined sugar isn't going to resolve the cause of your discomfort.0 -
Go for a walk, have somethng with protein, carbs and natural sugars. Also, make sure your drinking enough water0

Just think of how crappy you will feel if you give in to temptation. If I can not shove handfuls of trial mix in my mouth at 1am you can walk away from the rice crispy treats!0

You are not allowed to have the rice krispy treats but you are allowed to have a bowl of rice krispies...hmmm...now that's a lifestyle change! I do hope your tummy feels better. Withdrawal takes a lot longer than you think. Drink lots of water and give it more time.0

Rice krispies have sugar. I am eliminating all sugar.0 -

Thank you, Thank you. You're right. The sugar isn't going to help at all. I'm so frustrated by all of this. Any change to my diet causes such horrible symptoms, but I need to be patient. It's just "discomfort" and I will work it out eventually.0 -
Just jump already.0

Thanks for the laugh everyone. I get it. The world isn't ending. The sky isn't falling. I'm just fine. I forgot about the rice crispy treat. I'm going to go about my day now... drinking lots of water and avoiding enclosed spaces with other people.0
