I do not believe in god. So why would I, why do I believe in the magic of New Year? The magic of new beginnings? Why should 1st of January be better to start something, to make a change, than any other of its 364 fellow days?
Maybe because it's easier to imagine where you could be in just one year's time.
Time that will pass anyway. With or without you standing up for your dreams.
Maybe because we have more time to reflect about us and our lifes and what we would like to change.
Maybe because we remember where we have been last New Year's Eve and with whom and that we still look the same old us with the same old overweight.
Maybe even because we looked at some fotos of the party the year before and realized for the first time, how big our problem really is, how big we really are.
Maybe a bit of everything and more.
I honestly don't know. And I don't need to. As the only thing that countrs right now is that I believe that 2015 can be different, if I make it different; that I can start a new, that I can change and that I started to do so three days ago. And that I - day by day - will do my best to lose the weight that I assembled within the last 5 years, the overweight I am fully responsible for by making one bad choice after another, the overweight nobody else is to blame for. I always had the choice. And there will many more choices come to be made. And now I am ready for them.
My name is Julia, I am 21,5 years old, 115.6kg at 1.8m (~ 18,2 stone, 5ft 11inches) and I gained about 40kg in 5 years over making my university degree and starting my first real grown-up job. Now I started with the fast diet (in short: 5 days of eating normally thoguh healthy and 2 days of restriction to 500kcal, check out google for more information) and I am good with that. Today is my second fast day, no problems so far.
I hope to get to know you all better over time while I keep losing weight.
Have a great 2015!

What I forgot to mention: I finally want to reach 75kg which won't be slim but normal and then I will see.
I am planning for about 0,5kg of weight loss per week because I am not in a hurry. I did not gain it overnight, so I don't need to lose it that fast. I want to give time to my body to adapt sowly.
So by the end of 2016 I will definetively be where I want to be.0
