Hey everyone, I figured I should throw in my little success story.
I've had some typical yo-yo struggles with my weight- since I was 21 I've gained and lost the same 20-25 pounds (a decent amount on my frame) at least 3 or 4 times. This year I did it with diet and only inconsistent exercise- as opposed to all the times previous when I've relied on frequent and extensive exercise (body for life, p90x). It is so freeing to know that I can control my weight by controlling my intake alone.
I started 2014 at my heaviest- about 195 pounds.
I quickly got down to to 183
and then 176 in the spring. I got busy with work, travel, yada yada, and fell off the wagon for a few months as I gained more than 10 back. I picked back up with consistent logging in the summer though, and by the beginning of August I was back to 175
and 170 by the end of September
164 by the end of October
and hit my lowest in years at 158 in mid December
And remember... weight loss is not linear. And even if you stall for awhile, keep at it-
If 2014 was about weight loss, 2015 will be about fitness. I'd love to lose a few more pounds and hopefully see visible abs for the first time in my life. I am looking forward to making exercise a lot larger part of my life, and hoping for some newbie gains as I start weight lifting more seriously.
Thoughts, suggestions and questions welcome. Thank you, and here's to a great 2015 for everyone!

Awesome progression! You have a rockin' bod now. It's so true about not worrying about the weight loss as long as you have a consistent downward streak you have progress. Keep up the good work and good luck on getting those abs. :drinker:0

We are pretty similar in frame and weight. I am 5'8" and started at 196 lbs in September. I'm currently 168 lbs with a final goal of around 155 lbs. I'm doing it mostly with diet. What is your daily calorie intake goal?0

My goal for most of the last six months has been around 1750, but in reality I've netted right at 2,000. Impressive loss since September!
