Hello;-)

I'm a 51 year old woman, that lives in Alma MI (anyone out there in the same area?)

Pardon the pun, I'm solid;-) for the first time in 10 years I am solid. I am ready to lose weight. In the past I had wanted to lose for reasons that weren't conducive to the actual act of losing weight, I wanted to lose for someone else, or for spite.
For the first time I am doing this for me. I am worth this.

My knees ache, I can barely hold my arm up in church (I recon, I am about 250, at 5'4), it's time for me to make a change. I am more concerned with my health now then I was in the past. I am not getting any young. I also have a negative thyroid, but I'm on meds, so this shouldn't be a deterrent.

I was always naturally thin, until I went through a major depression. I tired to eat myself out of the dark abyss, and it worked for 15 minutes. Now, I see I am a food addict, I created a habit. When bored eat, when you don't know what you're going to do, lets go out..........A little hungry lets eat an entire cake.

For me, I eat my feelings. I have no idea something bothers me until something is triggered within me. I will eventually blog, but I warn you, if you're on my friends list, and read, it will be filled with writing errors, when I write I want to purge my feeling so I don't eat. I make NO judgement of others, if you don't like what you will read, then move on along;-)

I also have a child that is 12 (stop doing your math) the poor kid, I could never run with her, ride a bike, heck I have problems waking at times...........My child deserves more.

Keeping it real;-)

Yes, you deserve a happy & healthy 2015.

I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease), and I lost weight just like everybody else—by eating fewer calories than I burn. And there are plenty more success stories in the hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/753-hypothyroidism-and-hyperthyroidism
