84 lbs. in 36 weeks is more than 2 1/4 lbs. per week—that's an unhealthy goal. A realistic, sustainable loss by the end of September is 54–60 lbs.: 2 lbs. per week for the first 10 lbs., 1.5 lbs. per week for the next 25, and 1 lb. per week for the next 25.
After the big event you can go on to lose the rest at .5 lb. per week. (The smaller deficit will also help you transition to maintenance.)
You lose weight by eating fewer calories than you burn—period. You don't have to eat any veg. Just eat less of whatever you're eating now. Learn to log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. Logging works.
