Usually we get brown organic or cage free or whatever IDK, but CA has a new law even for eggs brought in from other states so the only ones available, were store brand white eggs, yes we went generic. ..*shudders*

You need to spell check before you post.
The only difference between white eggs and brown eggs is the type of chicken it comes from. They taste the same. The nutritional values are the same.-2 -
My fave is the lady who says she is for both lower prices and more room for chickens, clearly an optimist AND abundance theorist.0
-
Can you own your own chickens? They are cheap to care for, if you have even a small backyard.0

I have noticed SUCH a difference in the taste and amount of flavor in cage-free vs. generic. We buy CF whenever we can...if only Costco carried them in bulk!0

No, in the city, have a balcony.0

This is what I don't tend to like about NEW laws, they make things wonky for a bit. Mom said there were hardly any at her store too, didn't ask her what she ended up getting store brand or fancy or what color. ETA new.0

I used to live out in the country and bought my eggs (very cheaply!) from a woman who had chickens. They were brown.
In the suburbs now and eating store-bought eggs. They don't taste much differently than the eggs-from-a-chicken. Much more expensive, though.0 -

I'm on a tablet and the touchscreen is a nightmare. I know there's no real difference but it's just what we're used to, like if you're getting knudsen sour cream and suddenly you have to do a dollop of daisy.0 -

I haven't had one of the new generic eggs yet, but yeah we were loving our CF ones. I don't even how wanting chickens tp have bigger cages has resulted in no CF eggs at the stores?0 -
Is the cage-free label even regulated?0

So brown eggs DON'T taste choclatey?
I'm sad.0 -

Strong first post.
I much, much prefer local eggs when we can get them - the flavor is superior, IMO.
Sorry you couldn't find your brown eggs.0 -

Farmer's markets - or even just ask around. We know a guy through my husband's work, but I always forget to "order" them.0 -

In the UK we have caged, barn, free range and organic free range, priced in that order, and they're all the same colour.0

Sounds like a popular idea0 -
i'm more worried that they're going to skyrocket in price than the color of them. sometimes california passes the dumbest laws, man.0
-
I eat egg beaters. Less calories, less fat...and I don't think about the chickens. If you do egg whites it increases your protein. I mix them with spinach. ..yum!0
-
Taste is dependent on what the chickens are fed. I notice a big difference in the more expensive cage free that I buy but it likely has more to do with the omega 3s than anything. The chickens do have to be fed a specific diet to get more omega 3s.0
