How many calories does my egg have?

I'm trying to put a single egg in my food diary. I found one large egg, in the data base, plain and scrambled, it's 91 calories. I found a second large egg, hard boiled, it was 60 calories.. How do I decide how many calories I'm actually eating? I scramble the egg, no oil then microwave it in a little water.

Generally speaking, a large egg is usually about 70 calories and a medium egg is around 60 calories.

The USDA database gives 143 calories per 100g of egg (which is a lot of egg). From the same database, their range from 54 calories ("small") to 90 calories ("jumbo"). If you want to err on the safe side, go with 90. Or play whatever games you wish.

Entries like scrambled eggs are not helpful. Scrambling obviously does not change the calories of an egg. Cooking it in butter (or adding cream) does, but much better to Edmund the egg and butter separately than rely on an entity for scrambled eggs.

^ Agree. Regardless of how you cook something, enter the components separately. In your case it would just be the egg. Do your eggs come in a carton with nutritional info on it?

Check the carton your egg comes in. It should say. Then, you can weigh it for accuracy (50g is typically 70 calories, but some brands only have 60, but large eggs can go from 42g to 55g).

I weigh my eggs (raw) before cooking. But generally, a large egg is about 70 calories.
