Hi there, I've been using my fitness pal for almost a week. It's great and makes me really think about what I'm eating, drinking, etc. Hurt my back three days ago on my elliptical, so two days ago in alot of pain so not much exercise that day. Yesterday visited son and family and consequently didn't eat the best or exercise much (at least 2 hour drive both ways). But, I'm getting back on the wagon today. What is the best way to deal with these type of interruptions to my new healthier lifestyle? Should you alternate the types of exercise each day? Looking forward to hearing from anyone. I'll also try to read these message boards, etc.

Hey Sharon. I too have been using the app for about a week....from my experience of working out,,,it is best to mix up your work out routine...but always include some type of cardio each day. You want to mix up your strength training so that your muscles will not get over taxed but still get the work out you need. I too am having difficulty due to interruptions...but try and find a way to get in at least one little thing....I work as a security officer where I have to do nightly patrols....I have sped up my walking to at least 3.5 mph to get in a cardio....I have also used the large green garbage bins to do standing push ups...I am sure that if anyone came by they would think I had gone around the bend!0
