I have a spinning bike in my home (was my moms). I hear good things and bad things about spinning. I enjoy it because it helps me burn some calories in my own place when I don't want to leave. But there are many people out there who say its just going to get you bulky. I don't use it for large amounts of times like some people. I'll usually do 15-30 minutes then do other things like calisthenics or arm workouts.
So what are you're opinions? Do you spin? Has it worked for you?

Thanks for your time and replies :)

Not my words. Just things that I've read. While I know there a plenty of people who like it, I've seen a lot of negative articles on it. Just looking for more personal experiences and opinions.

Getting "bulky" requires progressive overload, eating at a surplus, and a lot of hard work.

I have been spinning (mostly classes) for about 10 years and it hasn't made me bulky at all. Even the heaviest of weights will not make most women bulky so I'm not sure where this claim came from. I do find it helps a lot (as does weight training) with endurance and muscle definition, especially the sides and fronts of my legs, if you use tension appropriately. (By this I mean you don't just leave the dial on low and ride easy). I also think it is a great at home option if you live with other people or in an apartment building - much less noise than high impact aerobics or a step, for example.

first please forgot the whole thing of "some people say" ! people say to much #$%^ and mostly about thing that they don't have any idea. if by any chance you would like to be 'bulky' that would your thing and no one should say anything about it, plus i would assume that those bulky persons put a lot of effort to look that way and it didn't happen by luck so don't put it as bad point of reference.

that being said spinning is awesome, i have gone to classes and you burn 400-500 cal. , my best friend is a spinning crazy person, that's all she does and believe me she has the best legs everrr <3 ! like really she is in a amazing shape and most of it it's because this daily classes that she have being taking for years now.

if you like it, please keep doing it!

They're idiots who probably also think dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time.

    Ignore them.

Also- just to clarify when I said 'bulky' I was in no way saying it is a bad thing, just not what I am going towards right now.

    ^^^THIS

I wish it was as easy to get muscular as people fear. My co-worker won't even lift 5lb dumbbells because she doesn't want to get "manly arms".

I love it and think it is a great way to burn a ton of calories in an hour. I've only done it in a class at the gym. I think I would have a hard time sticking to an hour on my own.

I say if you've got it use it. I think the spin bike works great. And I agree that it will not get you bulky.

Haven't seen anyone "bulky" in my spin class yet.

Honestly, it's so hard to build muscle, it's not going to bulk you out.
