Fitbit and spinning

i just got a Fitbit. It is linked to MFP. I took a spinning class today while wearing the FB. It logged the spin as steps. And then I logged the spin class in MFP. It seems like this is logging twice and affecting my calories allowed.
Did I do this right?
If not, what do you do when you do exercises that log steps even if it isn't a step?

Yes you did it right. Non-step exercise (including biking & swimming) needs to be logged either in Fitbit or in MFP—never both.0

Even though the FB picked up the spin as steps and I logged it in MFP, it didn't double log?0

Food & drink (including water) only sync from MFP to Fitbit, but exercise syncs both ways. When you log exercise in MFP, it overwrites your Fitbit data during that time. (Which is why I log all exercise in Fitbit—not MFP.)0
