What kind of exercise should I be doing at the gym?

Okay so I'm 18 5''9 and 232 pounds and female...so I go to the gym 5-6x a week. But I'm wondering what workouts should I be doing? I usually do cardio for an hour and use the weight machines for a half hour but is there anything I could be doing to improve weight loss?(of course besides healthy eating)

Exercises that you'll be consistent with. Exercise is for health and fitness. Calorie deficit is for weight loss.

I agree with ninerbuff, do whatever you like and will keep doing. That's what is the important - keep moving.

Agreed. Weights are essential (give yourself a day in between to rebuild muscle). Also do whatever cardio you enjoy the most and won't get bored with and quit, whether that is a cardio machine, fitness class, swimming or getting outside to run, walk or bike- just do it. Sorry I sounded like a Nike commercial for a minute there..
  • Take some classes if they have any at your gym.
