Hey everyone! I have been on MFP before, and I am back again. I am recovering from a sports injury in which I tore my MCL and dislocated my patella. This required surgery - a knee arthroscopy and microfracture procedure in an attempt to repair damaged cartilage under the patella. Anywho, I've packed on some fluffy "injury weight" and I went from being super active to very restricted in activity up until recently, which makes me feel very sluggish.

I am now three months out from surgery and cleared for: elliptical, stationary bike, deadlifts, leg press, hamstring curl, jogging/squatting in a pool, and arm/back exercises. I am hoping to workout up to 5 times a week with my physical therapist's clearance. Even if I can't get back on the field, I want to control my health, weight, and happiness. I love being active!

I really just need emotional support through this. I have huge transitions coming up in life (graduating for college, securing a job! :o ) and facing the fact that I may not be able to play again. Thank you for reading my story and I hope to see you around MFP!

Laura :)

Hello, you can add me if you like! I think it's great that you are taking your health / fitness seriously while you are young. If I could tell my younger self anything, it would be..... stay in shape! Be healthy! LOL (Better late than never, I guess)!
