Sick but trying to lose weight

Right now I have bronchitis and I want to lose weight but I can't workout. It's terrible because I planned on working out before school starts the 25 but I can't because I'm to sick to do that. Over the holidays I gained 3 lbs but I'm not mad about it because I know I can lose that once I'm working out. What should I do to lose weight when sick? Anyone have idea. I really would workout but I can't right now. Should I just wait until I'm better or is there anyway to speed up my recovery?

I just finished a bout of bronchitis and sinusitis. In my opinion (and recent experience), I did not make weight loss my priority. Working out can exacerbate your symptoms and eating too little only harms the healing process. Eat as well as you can, but don't kill yourself on focusing on the deficit with all the medicine and OJ and soups or whatever you may choose. :) I pretty much maintained my weight that week and a half, and I made my peace with that. It's not like I gained!

When I felt somewhat well enough, it was recommended to me to do some "light" exercise to break up the mucus in my chest. Pumped it out on a stationary bike for 20 minutes a couple times that week and coughed my head off, but I really felt like it helped loosen it all up. Walking is good, too. Drink lots of water/fluids!

    Get well soon!

Get some rest and plenty of fluids. Orange juice and warm tea for fluids. Wait till you're better for any heavy-duty workouts, or you'll be back in the same place.

Oh yeah!!! Warm stuff helps. Cold liquids can also make things miserable. Lots of hot tea with a teaspoon of honey. I drank two sometimes three cups of Ginger Lemon tea from Twinings (caffeine free) with a teaspoon of honey... Honey has an antimicrobial effect. :)

thank you guys! I appreciate all the comments. I just feel so down because I really wanted to lose like 5 lbs before I went back to school and I can't do that if I'm sick and unable to workout, you know. It makes me really sad
