I am a 37 year old (downhill to the 40's! Oh no!), divorced guy.
I got a Schwinn 270 exercise bike and have ridden 2 hours on it in the past few days.
I am looking to lose 80 pounds in the next year. It is doable. I was in diet mode when I lost it all initially in 2003-2004. I was a happy 145 after 1 year of dieting, but the principles I learned didn't stick. I was 264 last time. I am 245 this time.
I am a diabetic, and am on diet and glyburide/metformin combo. I am just trying to stabilize my numbers.
