Do you like to exercise in the rain?

Typically I don't really pay attention to what the weather is going to be like when I exercise outdoors, but the skies looked dark this morning around 8am and I was hoping I'd get a halfway decent run in, but 10 minutes in to my run, light rain fell and 5 minutes later, a gully washer occurred. I was SOAKED from head to toe. After the rain fell, start to get very humid and my wet ponytail turned to frizz LOL.

Anybody here like to run or ride a bike in the rain?

Yes! As long as it's above 45 and not lightning too much it's something I really enjoy. Rain is a blessing. It cools you off and makes you feel refreshed while you're still running. It is a bit annoying if the wind is pushing it into your eyes but I'll take that over humid warm air any day.

I don't want to do anything outside in the rain. I've spent enough time riding in the rain in my competition days. That's why I have a treadmill and an elliptical machine, and two sets of dumbbells.

According to an earlier thread, several people fantasize about doing a form of heart pounding exercise in the rain, and several others are uncomfortable with the thought of being that wet.

    was it zumba?

Yep, I sure do. I ran 10 miles in the rain last night in shorts and T-shirt. I was soaked by the end of it. It keeps me much cooler, which is how I prefer it. Cycling though, I'd rather do it in the dry on my road bike or in the mud on my mountain bike!!

On those hot summer days, I definitely welcome a bit of rain to cool things down.

If I start the run and it isnt raining, I enjoy a little rain as it cools me down and pushes me to go harder. I mean, if I'm getting wet I may as well work my *kitten* off so I have something to show for it.

But if the weather is bad I tend to skip running that day and do something else or take a rest day.

That'd be awesome. But, at 7 inches a year of rainfall, the odds are against it ever happening to me.

    ^^ YES!!!

I find I am more thoughtful and calm as I run in the rain. It's relaxing and soothing and seems to help pace and breathing (in my opinion). However, you're also talking to someone who rejoices in thunderstorms and wishes I lived where we had crazy storms. lol

The rain holds no fears for me but I have to keep my phone in a plastic bag when it rains

This! To quote someone (ahem waffle) 'you have to really commit to it and stomp in all the puddles'. I like running in the rain too but in the UK it isn't so warm and the last time i got drenched i felt hypothermic after an hour. :S

I enjoy running or walking in a nice summer rain. Not so much in the colder months though.

The Rain is my favourite weather, I love being out in it. Also I go to sleep listening to the rain & thunderstorms. So exercising in the rain would be fine for me.

JESUS FCUKING CHRIST YES!! I LOVE THE RAIN!

Nothing beats a 2 mile run in light drizzle, I'm getting a boner just thinking about it.

Ever swim across a lake during a rainstorm? it's almost as fun as whitewater rafting.

I played Badminton today. It was totally fine then it started pouring down. We kept playing then when we were just slinging water back and forth...finally had to stop...lol! but it was fun!
