There's certainly no need to be intimidated by weight lifting. Everyone was a beginner at some point, except the ones who never started at all.
    This.

I started lifting at age 40... It has done wonders for me.
    Oh and I went from 235 to 188 so far...I am 5'11"

Hello. I am 28 years old. As of 4 weeks ago I weighed 314 I started in October at 327. I am just starting. I am doing leslie sansones videos and I love them. I am not sure how much weight I have lost this month because I don't like the scale but my pants don't fit so that's a good sign. Add me and we can work on this as a team.
  • Feel free to add me, too!

Well I don't know what happened to my post lol
I am currently 265 and my goal weight is 145
I always looked at the big picture of losing weight and never succeeded- 20+ years over weight- it scares me. But I have been given an opportunity to fulfill a dream I always had and losing my weight will help in my process of getting back to who I really am

I used to be a handsome man, but since I gained so much weight, I don't let anyone take my picture. I am so embarrassed. You know the old adage that "all fat people look alike." I had to go to my sons wedding and of course many pictures were taken of me. None were very flattering. Well there isn't a better motivator than seeing your fat picture. You're three times the size as everybody else and all your facial features are gone. Have someone take your picture and put it where you see it a lot.

Well I lost another pound today and feeling pretty good about that.

I am considered "obese", but I think when I first started MFP, it was more like MORBIDLY obese...I have lost sixteen pounds and just FEEL so much better...I got a scare from my doctor saying I was at risk for a heart attack, so that really jolted me into doing something NOW and not when it is convenient for me...Good Luck in your journey...Feel free to add me as a friend...

I used to not care about my sodium intake. Then 2 years ago on Christmas Eve after having eaten lots and lots of sodium, I had a major heart problem that left me unable to work and on disability because of it. So, to me, the most important thing I could preach is "cut your sodium to very low levels." You need far less than what you think. A sedentary person only needs 500 mg/day. Do not drink excessively. I see people drinking 12-15 glasses of fluids a day and eating 3000 mg of sodium. They wonder why they don't lose weight. Duhhh 15 x 8 oz is 3,600 milliliters. First off, you are not going to urinate that much fluid in a days time. The average urine output is 2000 ml/day. Second, sodium causes you to retain fluids. Drop your sodium and drink less. Don't dehydrate yourself, drink about the level of fluids that you void.

Hello! I would love to help and support you through your journey as I am starting mine as well. At my all time highest was 300lb. This was after I put on nearly 60lbs from being diagnosed with a rare blood disorder. I am back down to a fluctuating 277-282, but I am getting married in September and want to lose a few sizes before then.
