    Do you mean that you weighed yourself before and after going to the gym on one particular day? If so bear in mind that your weight fluctuates by up to 0.5 kg day to day so it's expected that if you weigh yourself in the morning and evening you won't get the same reading.

    If you mean that you have been exercising regularly over a period of weeks and your weight is on an upward trend, you are probably eating more than you think. There's a post about that very issue which is worthwhile reading.

    You may also be overestimating either your exercise calories burned or your TEE. Try setting your activity level to sedentary and eating back only a portion of your exercise calories.

    Hope that helps :-)
  • Thanks. I fast 2 days a week and lost weight after fast day. I went to the gym on another fast day when we eat only 500 calories and did 90 minutes and the day after I weighed a pound more!! Can't work that out...

    Soreness = water weight

    Stop focusing on the scale

    You will lose weight on a fast day due to simply having less food in your system. Then you eat more on the non-fast day and voilà you weigh more. That's why you're not really supposed to weigh yourself every day (or if you do, only pay attention to the trend) .

    The last few replies here are right on point. If you did enough work in the gym to be sore then you will see an increase on the scale. Another thing, muscle does not "weigh" anymore than fat. 1 pound of muscle just takes up less space than 1 pound of fat. One question, why are you weighing in so often?

    Normal and natural body weight fluctuations can be 1-5 Lbs day to day. You don't gain a pound of actual fat or anything in a day. Do the math...

    If you don't understand natural body weight fluctuations I would suggest not weighing in so frequently.

    You did not build a lb of muscle in one day...it's water weight.
