Who am I

I am a person trying to find who I really am. For years I have struggled with my weight, and I gotta tell you, it's no fun. Thousands of people struggle each and every day because of weight issues. Why am I trying to change the way I look and feel? Well it's because I am tired, I am tired of being overweight and unhealthy. With the hustle and bustle of everyday life it can be very challenging to eat healthy and excercise..trust me I know! I have been trying to loose weight for years now and every time I try, it's a roller coaster ride. In 2012, I lost 25lbs eating right and exercising in just 12 weeks. I used My Fitness Pal at that time and found it very helpful (logged for almost 80 days straight, until one day I must have lost track and it restarted) I am excited to take my journey one day at a time. The picture I share was in August 2014. Color 5k. At my heaviest, I managed to get through it, I struggled yet had a blast! This was motivation for me, a little delayed, but here I am, not giving up! I just turned 30 a few months ago, and my goal by my next birthday is to be healthier and happier than I have ever been. I know I have it in me to be who I am suppose to be!

Keeping it one day at a time to me is personally the most effective method to keep on track. Thinking too far in the future as to how you want to look and how you will feel when you look the way you want can be distracting. However it is a good way to keep yourself motivated the key is to find a balance. From your story I can tell you are already committed due to your weight loss in the past and I wish you luck in your current goals0

There are couple of things that help me:
1) Logging into MFP everyday and inputting my exercise and nutrition daily.
2) Having MFP friends. I like to see my friends in my news feed daily and encourage and support others in which I receive it back and this helps me immensely.
3) Keeping an open mind, not letting guilt get the best of me if I have a "bad" day and I allow my self to start over or make a change the next day if "today" did not go so well!
I have been on MFP for 4 months and my mind and way of thinking (and my relationship with food) has changed dramatically and I am able to meet goals I set for my self.
If you are looking for MFP friends, feel free to send me a request!!! Good luck to you!
