Hi all!
Happy new year to you! I would like some help working out how much of my diet should be fat, carbs & protein? I've been researching and there is so much conflicting advice depending on different diets which is very confusing! Do I reduce carbs? Reduce fat? I just want to lose weight with a healthy balanced diet.

If anyone could help, or point me to a website with good information on, that would be lovely!

Thanks in advance,

See what works best for you. I do a 40p/40c/20f split when cutting, and it works well for me. As long as you're in a calorie deficit it really doesn't matter, just get enough protein to minimize muscle loss.

    I'm on 40C/30F/30P

I regularly hit about 50C but try to ensure I am eating 100g Protein or thereabouts on a daily basis

I don't pay that much attention to my macros but probably should

The optimal level depends on a lot of factors; height, weight, age, sex, exercise, body fat %.

I tend to go for 1g or more of protein per lb of lean body mass when cutting, 0.8g when bulking.

0.35g of fat per lb of lean body mass.

There are 4 calories for every gram of protein, 9 for every gram of fat.

The rest of my calories are made up from carbs, 4 calories per gram of carbs.

Try this calculator, makes it much easier: http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/

Worry about calories first from nutritionally dense foods.
