Extra exercise to cover down day.

So I need a bit of advice. I have given myself Sunday as my down day off exercise. In saying that, is there any trouble if I compensate by doing extra exercise on Fri and Sat (1hr extra each day) to make up for not doing any on Sunday? I think it's fine but my partner thinks I am pushing it too hard. Has anyone else used/is using this method at all?
