Okay, so I'm back and trying this again. MFP has me on 1264 a day. I'm starving. So I thought, what if I found out how many calories a day it would take to maintain the weight I want to be and eat that, which according to one calculator is 1694? Has anyone tried doing this? Granted, it's still a deficit from what I've obviously been taking in to get to where I am today, so that by itself should have some impact, right? :\ Just a question to throw out there to see if anyone has done it this way and had any success.

Thanks.

I haven't tried it myself but it's not a terrible idea. It can help get you used to a new intake level that will be the same as maintenance. The downside is that you loss rate will be slower, and could be painstakingly slow as you get close to goal.

It might be a good start, especially to lose the first bit. Hopefully once it slows down, you'll be both more used to eating less and ready to exercise more. I'm at about 1264 per day myself, and rarely go over, so it's not impossible. (Assuming that you got that number based on slow and steady weight loss and a relatively small frame)
