Favorite salad base?

Just curious to see what others do. I prefer my leaf base to raw spinach with a bit of romaine and iceberg thrown in. What are other combos that work well? (not talking toppings or dressing, just the green stuff)

Spring mix and romaine. I like spinach, but not as much when it's my salad base.

Raw is the only way I actually like spinach, so I figure at least I'm getting it somewhere! XD

I don't have one because I use a Vitamix and drink my baby spinach.

Depends on what the toppings are going to be, honestly, and when/where I'm getting it. But, generally, it's one of 3:

Red or green leaf (I get this for my typical lunchtime salads I pack at home for work; pretty cheap at the grocery store and lasts awhile if you clean/store it properly)
50/50 spring mix and spinach (I get that at salad bars, I find spring mix doesn't last long enough at home)
Arugula (if I get a taste for a certain salad combo I like I'l grab that for the week since it goes best)

If we're only talking green stuff, then any type of mild soft green will do for me. Lettuces, spinach, baby kale, baby collards, chard, napa, etc. I like to add in some spicier greens like watercress or arugula as well.

But many of my salads bases are not green. I like grain, pasta and spaghetti squash based salads as well. Or meat based, like chicken, egg or tuna, though I do typically serve those on a bed of soft greens.

Arugula is my favorite. Spinach is my second choice.

Kale!!! It's so hardy and really fills me up. Yummy. I will so mix it with Mesclun Mix for different textures.

If I am not doing a spinach/romaine combo I use sweet butter lettuce.

Spring mix here as well! If not spring, then all baby spinach.
