I just bought a personal blender thingy. Basically a sports bottle attached to a small blender. I figured I could make smoothies for snacks and occasional on the go meals.

Anyone got any good recepies?

+1 for kale. Get creative! in addition to the already mentioned... granola, bran buds, plain greek yogurt, blackstrap molasses, hemp hearts, dry cottage cheese, un-salted nuts, potassium chloride, raisins, dried cranberries, unsweetened almond milk... the list is endless. Tailor a shake/smoothie for exercise or diet :)

ice, 1 cup skim milk, 2 cups spinach, 1 banana, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup pitted bing cherries, 2 heaping table spoons of quick - less than 400 calories - all 5 fruits and vegetables
  • I've tried a ton of recipes for green Smoothies because, I hate to say that I absolute hate leafy greens. The recipe I will post comes out bright green and tastes pretty great. Most people who have tried it couldn't taste the greens. It's right around 300 calories.

    1 banana
    11/2 cup baby spinach (packed)
    1 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup canned or fresh pineapple
    1 tsp chosen seeds
    1/2 cup orange juice (I use trop50)
    1/2 cup original almond milk

    Mmm. My fave too!

After you try a few you'll be more incline to experiment. I started with maple syrup, cardamon, light riccota cheese, almond butter, and coconut milk. Sounds weird, but very good, and I hate maple. This is a Runner's World recipe.

I love flax seed added to mine, and we use a lot of frozen berries.
