Ate there any fellow mfp users that have fibro? If so, what do you do for exercise? I manage a walk when I can. Thanks guys x

I don't have fibro but a similar illness. Exercise actually decreases my neurological pain. Unfortunately the damage to my brain makes exercise more difficult.
My favourite results were from weight lifting. It's quick, I didn't get too hot, and I saw results quickly. Money is really tight and I can no longer afford a gym membership. The other two activities I enjoy are horseback riding and running (or so I'm trying to convince myself). I have huge problems with overheating and can't run when it's about 10C outside (thankfully? it's currently -26C). Running is hard, and I hate it, until I'm fit. I quit running a lot, but so far I've started more often than I've quit.
I started running by walking down a hall. When I had enough physical capability I started walking outside, I couldn't do more than 100' without needing assistance back inside and being in excruciating pain. I'm stubborn and reached my F you point and two years later I was running 7km/day and felt like I could go forever. Then I quit. Now I'm starting again with a walk/run mixture for about 3km. If you can't handle running keep walking, see if you can find some varied terrain.
Find out what you and your body (I'm definitely not one with my body, don't know if that's my personality or if other people with neurological diseases feel that way too) can tolerate and work there. Try pushing the boundaries at a rate that you can handle.0
