So, a couple days ago, midday, I realized I was MUCH fatter than originally thought...lol. Immediately logged into MFP after a 7 or 8 month hiatus. I need to shed this poundage. Unfortunately, I did not "plan" to get back on track which means, there are NO fresh veggies, lean meats or fruits in my house. I'm typically a planner. Meal plans, lists, charts, daily itemized time line....lol. I also work midnight shift and am so completely worn out so I haven't had the energy nor the budget (we ONLY grocery shop on Sundays) to go get the good stuff. Everything in my house is highly processed, what little we currently have....lol. So I'm trying to just watch my portions and not freak out over the fact that it's not the healthy stuff. At least not right now. Do you find it's easier for you to make a plan for the week or just make good decisions everyday and do well with what ya got?

I find it's much easier if I have a plan already set out. If I let myself decide things as they come throughout the day, I'm much less likely to succeed.

Best of wishes in shopping this upcoming Sunday. I know what it's like. I work night shifts myself, and don't have a car, so it can be rough for me to swing by the grocery store when I need to.

I feel more sane and in control when I meal plan and prep for the week on Sunday so this week kinda has me in a fizzle...lol.

Calories are neutral; you can lose weight with junk food or health food or some combination of the two, as long as you eat at a deficit. Over the long term, it's healthier in terms of nutrition (and easier to feel full and satisfied) if you opt for a healthy, balanced diet. But a few days of eating to your calorie goal in junk food won't hurt you. Just eat what you have on hand, but less of it. When you have more time, you can plan.
