Working out with limitations

I have always been known as a healthy eater and had a workout routine at the gym for 3 years straight. I have never been THIN, but healthy and to my satisfaction, fit. However over a year ago i had major surgery on my leg caused from a spider. Five surgeries later and no workouts allowed, I have gained 30 pounds and bad eating habits from depression. I am slowly getting back into it. Any tips to help sstrengthen my leg and get back to my old routine?
