What fuels your bad choices?

I typically only ate one meal a day. On my work days it was either a Jr bacon cheeseburger, large fry and large sweet tea or Jimmy Johns. I have eaten one meal a day for at least 20 years. Not because I was trying cut calories but in the beginning, at 19, I was just so damn busy all the time w/ a new born that I didn't have time to eat anymore than that. Anytime I have ever lost weight, I have always eaten MORE! Go figure right! But it's the honest truth. If I eat between 1200-1500 calories, the pounds disappear. I know this. I have proof of this working for me. Why then, do I always revert back to one meal a day? Because I'm lazy. =( Unfortunately that is the sad and ugly truth. I would rather be crocheting or sewing or watching a movie than preparing a good meal. Sometimes, I'd even rather be sleeping. It's not because I'm so busy, as I have told myself time and again the last few years. I simply don't want to invest the time into planning and cooking and prepping. Bleh! There were things to be sewn and candy to be crushed damnit!!! So I stopped, looked at just how much time I spent doing nothing. Turned out to be a lot of time. Admitting that your bad choices are your own, not because life is too busy or there just aren't enough hours in the day was a hard realization, but once I actually said (typed) it out loud, I kinda got this spark to make a change! =) So what makes you decided on the fast and easy meal or the half pound of chocolate? I am thankful I'm not an emotional eater as I am typically a mess on wheels...lol. I would forever be that girl with the candy bar always in her hand.

It's great that you know your eating habits and how they positively and negatively affect you, this is a great way towards changing them and getting the healthier lifestyle you deserve! Keep up the great attitude!

I'm a firm believer in there being no 'bad foods' only as you put it 'bad choices' and I used to make more than enough. Before I started my healthy lifestyle I would order a 14" pizza, topped with more donner meat than is usually put on 3 or 4 kebabs and fully loaded with cheese until it even weighed the donner down!! I would get this several times a week, the driver always used to laugh!! I would then eat it all in one sitting (most of the time).
I was comfort eating, simply because I didn't see anything else but that

So what fuels my choices now?
The love of my healthy lifestyle and feeling in control of my body. When we work out what makes us 'tick' we can change those habits for the better.

    All the best,
    Adam
