Does anyone substitute a meal for a whey shake. I'm not the one to eat breakfast in the morning and I need something quick to whip up. What is your goto whey for weight lost ?

There's no such thing as a "weight loss whey". The only way to lose weight is to eat less calories than what your body burns.

But if you want to stay fuller longer, try casein protein instead of whey.

Why do you need to eat breakfast if you aren't one to? If not eating in the morning works for you, there's no need to force it.

Breakfast kick starts your metabolism for the day, so eliminating it isn't smart. Shakes are a great replacement for breakfast. I've done it.

That's a huge myth. Your metabolism only stops when you're dead. Ive spent several years consistently skipping breakfast. I lost 53 lbs doing so and I'm in the best shape of my life so... I'm waiting for my metabolism to shut down.... any day now.... maybe in about 70 years

I still wouldn't advise skipping breakfast either way. Helps hunger through the day too, and gives you more energy.

Each individual is different. What works for you may not work for another in terms of satiety and adherence to one's diet, which is ultimately the goal. Here's a few articles on meal frequency in here based on science.

In my experience, eating first thing in the morning triggers me too be ravenous all day. Waiting until around 1 pm helps me adhere to my calories and I have had zero performance issues doing it.

  • I find that if I don't eat something then I will just start craving sweets and indulge later on in the morning . But I do find that if I do eat breakfast that I do get hungry. But since the shakes are a little heaver it should hold me up until lunch

I just don't give myself time to make breakfast and I'm not a heavy eater in the morning so I just wanted something to start my day. Lol

Do you have anything else you could eat? Drinking doesn't ever satiate me for long. Maybe greek yogurt? Peanut butter on toast with a banana? Eating something with decent fat and protein would be ideal, for sure. Shakes are okay, so as long as you don't end up hungrier, in the end

Yup, you gotta find what works for you. I usually have a protein dense breakfast, and it works for me. I workout about half hour after breakfast for about 40 minutes, and then i have a protein shake after. Carries me over to lunch, where I usually have a larger lunch. Sometimes I have a hard time eating a snack or dinner as I don't feel the need to eat. But I do anyways, and I find I don't need to eat as much. I sip/drink water during the course of the day and it helps with cravings as well.

I do ! make sure to get a brand that is pure whey isolate sweetened with Stevia, not a bunch of sucrolose or aspartame.

Jay Robb is a good brand. I add 1 cup frozen fruit, almond milk (30) calories and sometimes a TBS coconut oil..sooo good!1

In terms of flavor and calories vs protein, optimum nutrition and trutein are my favorites. They come in some yummy flavors too.

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day so I like a nice big cooked breakfast, but if I wake up late I'll down a protein shake with some frozen berries and oats blended in. I don't notice much difference in satiety between the two; either will keep me going until lunch just fine.

If I don't eat breakfast at all I'm usually starving and in a foul mood by lunch time. But everyone is different.

The 'kick start your metabolism' myth has been debunked, so if you are fine not eating breakfast and you are meeting your calorie and macro goals for the day then don't worry about it. It's personal preference.

I usually get the www.myprotein.com powders; I've tried about 7 different types and they have all been great except for one (vegan blend chocolate).
