Re-Calculating my goals

I have lost 19 pounds in 75 days. Once I dropped 10 pounds, MFP asked if I wanted to recalculate my goals. I said no, thinking if it's not broken, don't fix it. However, I have stopped losing weight. I haven't changed my routine so I don't know why I've hit a roadblock. I am wondering should I recalculate my goals and if so, what does that mean exactly?

congratulations on the weight loss so far! as you lose weight your body will require fewer calories. It may not be a bad idea to let Fitness Pal recalculate for you to see what comes of it.0

^^This is true, but a 19-pound weight loss should not erase a deficit that was large enough to cause a 1.75-pound a week loss rate (or even a pound a week loss rate, if we make a generous allowance for initial water-weight loss). How long have you "stopped losing weight"? Have you checked the calendar to see if hormone-related water retention could be masking fat loss? (Assuming you're a premenopausal female.)0 -

I would reevaluate your goals. That will lower your calories. Try that for a WK or two to see how it goes. U also can manually adjust it depending on how it goes.0

I understand where you would not trust the program at the start but I hope you will learn to, and sometimes take a beat before deciding what is best advice from the boards for your lifestyle I did enter my info when MFP prompted me at -10lb, and I got more calories! Sure enough I continued to lose weight, and when I hit my first plateu, I again added calories, and I'm still losing weight! Best of luck to you!!0

I recalculate every 5 lbs, and it usually drops my daily calories by 10 per day. Just go through the goals process and follow it through to the end, even if you don't change anything.0

Thank you all for the advice!0

How long has it been since you've lost?0

It's been about three weeks since I've lost any weight. I've also been hungrier during that time.0

As you get closer to your goal, you should re-evaluate your calorie needs but you should also lower your deficit - so if you were going for 2 lb a week, drop to 1 lb a week.0
