Last week I...

had a couple of bad days. I have been letting my emotions dictate my cheat days (not good) and because of that, I ended up with 2 cheat days last week. Thankfully I still lost 1/2 a pound.
I used to think that I didn't deserve one until I was closer to my goal. Then about 4 weeks in, I had a bad day (due to my emotions) and still ended up losing weight. So, I then decided that if I needed to go over my calories one day every week or two that it wouldn't be a bad idea. My problem is I would have my cheat days when my kids were driving me nuts or I was tired and I had no control. I ate until my belly was sore, just like I did before my life style change.
Helawat posted something that really stuck with me on one of the "cheat" post last week. Her post said something like "to pick out a cheat day in advance and that way you are controlling WHEN you eat and your not letting your emotions make that decision for you". Being an emotional eater, this finally clicked for me. I can't seem to find that post and Helawat maybe you could bump it up cuz it really made a difference on how I view things now.
I am trying this for the fist time this week. Friday is my official "cheat day" and I can't wait to see how it will turn out because I hate being out of control.
Thanks for all the great information!! MFP can never go down again!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Hey Mireille,
I believe this is the post you mentioned:

I believe you're on the right track. I'm glad you found relevance in my post!
I'm sure your official cheat day will turn out fine. Don't forget that you are always in control when things don't always seem that way.
Cheers!
