Hi there :) pretty new to this! I've lost 3 stone 4lbs so far and i've just joined MFP to help me track. And was wondering why my daily nutrition goals change daily, like how they go up and then back down day to day? Thanks :)

Some days you exercise and it changes your macros and caloric allowance.

The nutrition goals are percentage-based. Each time your calories change (due to logging exercise) they will change.

If you log exercise, your daily calories and go up (and how much protein/carbs/fat you're supposed to consume). The number of calories you are set to eat by MFP is your goal without exercise, and you'll lose weight eating that and not exercising a bit. If you choose to exercise, then in order to fuel your next workout and so that you don't accidentally create too large a deficit, you're supposed to eat back some/all of those calories that you burned in order to have a NET intake of what MFP has set for you in order to lose weight in a sustainable and healthy manner.

If you have an activity tracker, such as a FitBit, then you can lose calories by not being as active as your profile states. So as an example, if you've set your profile on MFP to "lightly active" but only achieve 3,000 steps one day, FitBit will subtract some calories since you were not as active as predicted (*only if you have negative adjustments enabled. For FitBit this is opt-in, not sure about other trackers though)
