Overnight Oats

Hi,
I normally eat 'quick cook' porridge for breakfast, it's easy to re-heat at work and pretty healthy.
I've just seen this recipe (http://www.radiantrachels.com/my-favourite-overnight-oats/) and thought it looked amazing, have since googled 'overnight oats' but not sure I get it?!
Do you eat them cold or heat them up?

Most people eat them cold. Since the oats are sitting in the milk all night they are cooked so no heating is necessary.0

If you like it cooked, Alton Brown has a great recipe for overnight steel cut oats in the crock pot.

Really, if you get the liquid right, you can pretty much add anything topping-wise you happen to like to it. I'm an apples 'n cinnamon gal, meeself.0 -
Frozen Blueberries or bananas on my crock pot oatmeal every morning. Yum.0

I adore overnight oats. I have one or two recipes that I continually make the night before because they're so easy and tasty. And yes, you don't have to do any cooking because you mix the oats uncooked and they soak up the milk overnight.
My favorite one is pumpkin flavored oats... you just mix equal parts quick oats and skim milk, except I'll replace a bit of the milk with a dollop of pumpkin butter and then add cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice. I also make a chocolate one where I measure out a teaspoon of mini chocolate chips (just a teaspoon or two doesn't spike the calories too badly, and adds texture) and a bit of my boyfriend's chocolate flavored protein powder. I've also replaced some of the milk with apple butter and added cinnamon as well. My normal amount is one half cup milk to one half cup oats, and then go from there.
Then, I stir it, put some saran wrap over the cup it's in, and put it in the fridge, then in the morning, stir again and enjoy. I like it cold for some reason, but I'm sure you can put it in the microwave if you absolutely must have it warm.0 -

Here's my experiment:
1 T chia seeds
1/3 of banana
1/2 c frozen berries
1/4 c oatmeal
1/4 cup of almond milk unsweetened
Pour all this in baggie & let sit in fridge for 15 - 30 minutes.
Then put in freezer overnight.
Take out in morning place baggie in warm water to loosen everything from bag.
Dump in blender adding another 1/4 c of almond milk & 1/4 c of plain fage yogurt.
This will keep you full until lunch!0 -
I was never fond of it, but I actually stopped using yogurt in them and they turned out much better, go figure!0

In the summer I eat it cold, in the winter I heat in microwave for a minute and stir.0
