Sore abs while running?

When I picked up running one of the things that held me back the most wasn't my breathing or my legs getting sore. It was this deep pain in my abs every time I'd run. Not a side stitch, I know what they feel like. Instead it was a pain across the center of my belly. It felt like I had been gut punched or something. The pain would often get so bad I simply had to stop running to get rid of it because it would get more and more agonizing as I went.

So, I did what should have been an obvious solution: I started working my abs every day. Find a good ab program, and make it your new religion. Within one week of working my abs daily the abdominal pain has ceased in my running. That's a pretty big bang for your buck. Hope this helps some of you!

Yes- it is also referred to as "core training" and is essential for a runner. Work those abs baby!:flowerforyou:
