This is my third time here, I think. I lost count, I suppose. Last time I was here was last year, did some good back then and then... splat. I fell off the wagon. Sigh. Everything hasn't changed, I haven't lost weight and I think I might've added on some more. I wanna give this another shot, maybe the last heave ho... so here I am!

Hello (again)! I'm Cristina, 35 and I (still) need to lose over 100 pounds. Pretty shy at the get go, but I'm quick to warm up with folks who're on the same boat as me.

So, here goes again! I'm open to tips, suggestions, experiences and just making new pals along the way. The site, after all, is...myfitness...pal. ;)

Cheers, folks! :)

Welcome. Make it a lifestyle change rather than diet, in other words look at what the habits are, which cause you to gain and/or stay at a high weight, then tackle them one by one in a patient manner. Read and learn, join groups, make friends.

My third time too. I've lost 50 lbs 3 times now, in almost identical ways. Determined this is the last time. I started a discussion called 'what are you doing during weight loss to prevent future relapse' to figure out how to do it better this time. Good luck!

The risk of relapse is there only if it hasn't been a permanent lifestyle change. If you create new habits, you will habitually act in the new healthy ways, rather than according to old unhealthy ones.

This is why it is so often that people "fail", because they don't tackle exactly everything that made them gain in the first place.

It isn't about weight only, but proper nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, mental balance, and so much more.

Goodness we are all doing the same aren't we. Wish I could blame someone else but it's me that puts the food in my mouth. Need to think first, eat second, add me if you want. Iris
