Why I know it's going to work this time

Hey folks, love the community here. Been lurking lots, starting to post a little bit lately. I've been trying to lose weight my whole life, have done so successfully a few times, but always with some crazy diet. Never could figure out how to maintain at a lower weight, mostly because I didn't get there by eating a realistic diet of food that I enjoy. Just gritted it out with willpower to lose the weight, but then gradually gained it all back after I reverted to normal each time. Anyway, I'm here to say that it's going to work this time. The reasons I know this are the following:
1. I am able to eat food that I like and stay within a calorie deficit. No need to follow some wacky formula, just creating a small (500-1000) calorie deficit most days.
2. I'm actually looking forward to exercise. My wife and I started the strong lifts program in late December and I am loving it. We got a cage and weights for home, and all I can think about is working out.
3. We're done having kids. As much as this is an excuse, I would always struggle when I tried to do this on my own, and my wife was never ready to do it until she finally had our last kid 6 months ago. Now that we are committed together, this will succeed for sure.
4. I understand myself better. I've always been a bit of a late bloomer, so it stands to reason that I would finally figure this out when I'm nearly 40. No matter, I know what makes me tick as I get older, and I am better able to deal with the inevitable setbacks and challenges. The good news is my kids are still young enough that I should be able to really reap the benefits of improved health with them, even if it takes me a year or two to get where I want.
Who else is starting this journey for the final time and knows it's going to work this time?
