Infused water?

Hi! Do any of you drink infused water? If so...do you count the calories in the fruit/vegetables? How?

For example I really like to drink water I infuse with lemon, cucumber, and mint. But I haven't really been logging any calories for this. If I EAT a cucumber, I'd log that.

I'm sure some calories come out of the infusing ingredients, though I don't actually eat the pieces, should I be counting something?

It's all in a large pitcher at home so I can't really tell how much of what I get per glass. Each pitcher has one lemon, half of a cucumber, and 4-5 leaves (broken vessels) of mint.

Considering that you don't actually eat the pieces, I'd say that it's not worth bothering to try to count the calories. If you want, you could always quick add like 10 calories to cover your bases, but imo it's not worth worrying about

I drink infused water. If you're not ingesting the fruit or veggies, don't count them, it's very diluted anyways. I usually throw few frozen blueberries into mine in the morning on the way to work. It's a yummy pick-me-up before my tea!

Try not to add too much lemon or lime to your water. It may be good to drink, but it wreaks havoc on your tooth enamel, even when diluted. We see a lot of patients who drink lemon water as part of their Ph balance and diet, and they have acid wear and aren't aware of it. If you are going to have lemon or lime infused water, please swish about 5 mins after drinking with plain water.
