What to eat on holiday?

I'm going on holiday to India for two weeks in July I was wondering, how do you guys cope when you go abroad? I'm in the process of losing weight and I really don't want to put on the weight again!
I'm going to India and I was wondering what kind of things I could eat that are safe(I don't want deli belly or to get ill!) and also healthy! Any advice would be welcome!
I'm going with school so I'm not going to be able to have much control over where I go but I want to try and make sure that I have some guidance as to what to eat! I don't really like spicy foods so its going to be a challenge anyway! :/
Has anyone been to India and put on weight because of the food? Has anyone lost weight while there?
Sorry for all the questions!!

Dont' know what option you have in India.. but I suggest eating at maintenance levels and enjoying yourself. How often do you get to go to India?? Enjoy it! I wouldn't want to be there and be like.. oh no.. I can't eat that authentic Indian cusine because I am out of calories.. oh no.. I'm gonna eat it and then exercise more when I get back..

I've never been before! :) I guess i really don't want to put on weight because after that I'm going on holiday with the family so potentially I'll have a whole month of excess eating and maintaining weight is hard for me :/

I think if you just keep your goals in mind.. eat a healthy salad before dinner .. pick things that are fresh and full of veggies you should be ok. I would be eating curry like everyday in India.. LOL When you go with your family, just tell them you need veggies with your meals. You need chicken breasts and stuff for dinner. Maybe not everynight.. but you're family should support you. Mine made sure to have pretezels instead of chips adn they bougth skinny girl alochol for me and bought lean beef for burgers and had a big salad adn corn for me when I was there. I know ti's hard.. but you just have to keep your goals in mine, but allow yourself to enjoy your vacations as well.

Portion control. You'll find you eat a lot of rice so watch your amounts. Meat is not a big option. Choose fruits and veggies to fill up. Most of all be sure to enjoy the local foods and try new things.
