"No seriously this is happening again..."(losing, regaining, and losing again)

I've actually told myself this a couple of times since starting my program again and I'm still quite stunned I'm back at this place.

Ok, it all started when I hit 200 pounds and my doctor had numerous 'your weight is an issue' conversations with me. I had never been that big in my life (regardless of the many many weight issues that I've always had) so I decided to lose weight. I lost 70 pounds in a year and was happy. I even managed to keep it off for a year and a few months and bounced up and down within the 130-140 area. Unfortunately, just as before, I fell into a bout of mild depression (much less severe than the last time) and gained 20 pounds of the weight back this last year. I never completely stopped working out, I just only did it maybe once or twice a week and not as long as I was used to. I'm not so devastated as I thought I would be, but I'm much more disappointed in myself for just not caring as the descent happened.

So now I'm back to this place where I have to get back on track and I'm bored of it and I just don't want to work hard anymore. I want to reach my goal weight (110-115, I'm only 5'0) which I've never accomplished but I just can't seem to motivate myself. I've never been one of those active people and just don't know how I can make the lifestyle change doing something that I just do not like doing. I'm working out more heavily again, starting to eat healthy again and not drinking alcohol. I've lost four pounds since I began my new plan and I just don't feel like it anymore. How absolutely frustrating!

What do you do when you just don't feel like it anymore? Like you've come all this way and you're just tired of it. I suppose what I'm looking for is some motivation and perhaps some inspiration from someone who has already experienced something similar to this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Ah! Me too! Up and down on and off. Seriously. Get with the program! Any program lol. :#
I'm starting again and honestly...looking at it one day at a time. That's it. Not looking at how far i have to go or for how long i have to do this for, I am just trying to make better decisions....One day at a time.
I am a whiner. I hate my exercise bike. I hate my tread climber. I feel that they mock me when I am not on them and may have wronged me in a past life somehow lol. There is some serious hate there
I am looking to lose 58 lbs. Again. Seriously. Again??? lol but maybe since I just hit 40 I am now a "grown up" and will make smarter decisions lol....let's hope ;)
Anyone willing to kick my butt please feel free to add me ;)

I think at times we all have felt that way. I too have put weight back on and im now back on it.

As for exercise, it is different for everyone. What excites one bores another. I see all these people going to the gym and burning a lot of calories. I did the gym thing and thought to myself, this is got to be one of the most boring things in life so I quit. What I have learned through it all though is that you have to find what works for YOU. This is no one elses journey but yours. Look around and see if there are some different types of classes you might join once or twice to try out. Dance classes, yoga classes, kick boxing...what ever. Give them a try. When you find something that you enjoy, you will stick with it. Just do not give up looking until you find what strikes your fancy.

When it comes to food. quit dieting and start eating. People go on diets and quit because they are tired of the same ole same ole food. Do some research and find some foods that are healthy that you would enjoy. I found a webisite called SkinnyTaste and I cook all the time now. Great food and healthy too. My entire family has enjoyed everything I have fixed from that site.

Most import thing though is for you to remind yourself that you are worth the effort

i remind myself that those are the moments that change me.

when i dont want to do what is good for me and it's all just so hard - thats when Im building my sense of self.

its not the great days and the wins that shape who we are becoming, it's the getting knocked down all the time and how we handle it.

if we dont handle it at all, if we just quit cause it's difficult - then what the heck are we made of?

    nothing?

Yep! It's what we gain from the hard work and the "don't want to" moments that build us and shape us. The end result is so worth it! We emerge a better person both mentally and physically.

One thing I will add though, OP, is if you don't want to put for the effort to workout then the trade off is less food. Or, do shorter, more intense, more effective workouts.
