Determined to actually do it this time!

Hi everyone,

I'm Catherine. 22 years old and in possession of a busy job and social life in London, England. I'm a vegetarian with a somewhat dangerous aversion to vegetables and ever since I was about 14 I've been overweight.

Finally, after numerous failed diets and once-determined gym kicks, I have decided that enough is enough and I'm going to ditch the extra weight this year. This time I've decided to do it differently and be actually realistic about how I go about it.
I started a few weeks ago at 189 pounds, which at 5' 5" made my BMI 31.4. According to the ever charming National Health Service this put me firmly in the category of 'obese'. I'm still in the category of obese, but my weight has now fallen to 183, thanks to the help of this nifty little website. My goal is to reach 130.

Having lived with myself for over 20 years and thus knowing what a deceptive little shite I can be I have routine-d this weight loss plan like I would my work diary. I plan my lunch for work the next week on Saturday and have been cooking and freezing the entire week's lunches in advance so I have absolutely no excuse to trundle off down the road to buy a sandwich. I've picked a gym on the bus ride home from work so if I decide to skip it that evening I have to feel the shame of watching people going into it as I lazily ride home. I put my meals into the myfitnesspal app for the day the night before, so I don't get tempted as much to nip into Tesco for garlic and herb potatoes.

Anyway, it's really great that this community exists so that we can discuss our own journeys with getting healthier together. I hope to get to know a few of you so we can follow each other's weight loss and provide support when needed! It would be especially great to speak to people with a similar starting weight and goal weight.

Catherine x
