Carbs...pre or post workout?

Recently, I read somewhere that fast acting starches such as white potatoes or rice should be eaten in the first meal after a workout. Is this true? I always thought it was better to have protein immediately after a workout and starches before. Any insights on this? Also, when I say "carbs", I don't mean vegetable carbs. I mean starchy carbs such as rice, potatoes, pasta, breads, etc.

Carbs pre workout for sustained energy during workout. More energy means more likely you will work hard enough so you achieve muscle tear.

Carbs post workout for muscle glycogen replenishment and increased blood glucose level. Higher blood glucose level post workout leads to better transportation of amino acid and nutrient into your muscle fiber, so the muscle tears can recover and become stronger.

Starchy carbs are perfect pre and post workout, make sure you consume enough protein during each meal.

    does not matter….

nutrient timing is overrated ..unless you are performance athlete or something like that...
