Staying Hydrated

This may be an obvious question, but what beverages help you stay hydrated?

Obviously water is best. But sometimes water is boring.

Does milk help with hydration?

I have heard that pop helps hydrate you (even though it's not good for you), is that true?

What about other caffeinated beverages? Coffee/tea - do they hydrate you? I've read they actually do the opposite.

I definitely drink water the most, but if I get bored or I want more flavor, I used Mio or some other version of liquid flavoring with plain water or club soda. It's very tasty, and I can get lots of fruit flavors. Soda does hydrate you, but like you said, it does have the extra sugar that comes with it. Coffee and tea are hydrating as well - it may be the add-ons to them that could possible cause you to dehydrate. Also, alcohol is not a hydrating liquid - ever notice how alcohol doesn't freeze?

Alcohol is DEFINITELY a dehydrater lol. Won't drink that before a big event ever again!

Yes, water is the best for hydrating. Chemicals in any flavored drink have the potential for a dehydrating effect. If you're tired of plain water, you can add fruits and herbs to the water. Google "water infusion recipes" to get an idea.
